The department of Animal Health is located at the Boxmeer site. There they develop new medicines specifically for animals. They produce, amongst others, vaccines that prevent bacterial, parasitic and viral infections in both pets and farm animals. Our client is one of the first companies that focusses on biological research for animal health.
Your new role
As an Associate Scientist, you will carry out laboratory work aimed at the development of new products, the improvement of existing products, or solving problems in the production of existing products, according to instructions and general guidelines, in a safe and (GLP/GMP) compliant manner.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Performing experiments based on general guidelines and instructions, possibly with reference to existing processes and methods
- Receiving and discussing assignments from/with Project Leader(s)
- Creating a test design in consultation with Project Leader(s) and arranging the supporting work as necessary.
- Indicating deviations, investigating the cause, and making proposals for improving / changing the experimental design
- Recording the results in the laboratory journal, interpreting them and discussing them with the project team.
- Writing Subject Memos, Subject Reports and Regulations / Protocols (if necessary, in English) with low complexity.
- Performing operations under GxP (e.g., assistance with pilot- and consistency batch production, small scale batches for animal studies, and seed production).
- Proposing the introduction of new methods and techniques.
- Transfer of production processes and quality control tests to Production and QC departments.
- Carrying out activities for the daily laboratory operations (including GxP, EHS).
- Taking care of the introduction, qualifications, and maintenance of new equipment.
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant HBO education and/or experience. Knowledge and experience of the requirements and rules for setting up and the functioning of a laboratory.
- Knowledge of and experience with GxP guidelines.
- Knowledge of and experience with MPS methods.
- Strong safety mindset and mindset for continuous improvement.
- You demonstrate ethics and integrity, and are driven by results.
- Strong communication skills in English (preference for candidates who also speak Dutch)
What you'll get in return
Hays Detachering | This is a project that will start with a contract for 12 months through Hays. Extension to stay within the department is anticipated. In this position, you will get a competitive salary starting from 2,980 (based on experience) and your travel expenses are covered. Visa sponsorship is not possible in this position, and candidates requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
