Senior Payroll Specialist | Netherlands Payroll
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a clearly defined project assignment, running from March 2025 through June 2025. The assignment requires a minimum commitment of four days per week and will focus on delivering specific payroll-related improvements within this fixed period.

Assignment Deliverables & Scope
The Payroll Specialist will work on clearly defined deliverables, including:
Payroll Process Documentation & Optimisation:
  • Analyse and document current payroll workflows.
  • Propose and implement efficiency improvements.
Compliance & Accuracy Review:
  • Ensure payroll processes align with Dutch labour laws and internal policies.
  • Provide recommendations for compliance enhancements.
Knowledge Transfer & Training Materials:
  • Develop a structured knowledge-sharing document for internal teams.
  • Conduct at least four knowledge-sharing sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Make payroll calendar, runbook and work instructions
Payroll Data Validation & Reporting:
  • Perform an audit on payroll records for the last two quarters.
  • Generate a final report with findings and recommendations.
Assignment Conditions
  • The assignment is project-based and independent, with no hierarchical relationship to the organisation.
  • The Payroll Specialist will work with clearly defined objectives and deliverables.
  • The specialist is not embedded within the organisational structure (no team leadership, no participation in internal team meetings beyond project scope, and self-managed/flexible work hours).
  • Collaboration will take place based on pre-agreed milestones and reporting points (output driven).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and compliance within complex organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch payroll regulations and payroll software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new payroll systems and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for clear knowledge transfer.
  • An analytical mindset with a proactive attitude toward process improvement.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Payroll-related diploma or certificate.
  • Experience with tax accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Dutch CLA, or other manufacturing CLA. Experience with payroll systems such as SDWorx, FLO/EBlox, Cobra, AFAS, and ProTime is a plus.
