Your new role
As SHE Expert, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive SHE programs and procedures to ensure the safety of employees, protection of the environment, and compliance with all relevant regulations. You will lead the European division to drive a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization. The current work scope includes lab, warehouse, office in the Netherlands, office and warehouse in the UK.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement SHE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, national, and international regulations and best practices.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential SHE risks and develop appropriate control measures.
Provide leadership and guidance to the employees, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Investigate and report on SHE incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other departments to ensure SHE considerations are integrated into all aspects of business activities.
Monitor and evaluate SHE performance metrics and develop improvement plans as needed.
Participate in construction project for contractor management and applicable legal permit.
Stay updated on emerging SHE trends, regulations, and technologies and implement appropriate changes to the SHE program.
Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on SHE matters.
Your profile
To be considered for this position as SHE Expert, you have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher), combined with knowledge and experience in safety, health, environment, safety, chemical engineering and/or biopharmaceuticals. Because you will be the only SHE responsible onsite in the Netherlands and responsible also for 2 UK sites, you need to have at least 3 years of relevant experience and you can act as a SME. You have strong knowledge of SHE regulations and standards applicable in the Netherlands and you are familiar with major regulations of the European Union and U.K. If you have specific SHE certifications (MVK, HVK, CSP, NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) this will be considered a plus. Do you also have experience with sustainability initiatives or corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs? This will also be a plus. You are fluent in English, Dutch is not mandatory for this role. The benefits
Your new employer offers you a salary between 55-70K gross annually (including 8% holiday allowance) that fits your experience and expertise. On top of this, you can get a bonus of about 11% of your annual base salary, based on both individual and company performance. Of course, you will also get good secondary benefits such as a 2 year contract with the intention to convert to a permanent contract afterwards. They also offer a good pension scheme (2/3 paid by employer), 25 holidays, travel expenses (0,23 euros per km), a hybrid working policy and you will be offered a warm meal on the days you work onsite.
