Your new role
As HR Business Partner a.i. you will primarily be responsible for supporting the Site in Leiden, Netherlands. This role provides HR Business partnership to dedicated Site leaders to drive business performance through focused execution of our People Strategy, organizational design, talent management, and change management. The Leiden Site is currently in final stages of construction and expects completion of process transfer and regulatory approvals ahead of multi-product commercial manufacturing commencing in early 2026. You are part of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and you report directly into the Senior Director HR (located in the US). You have HR colleagues to support you on different subjects, but you are the only/main HR point of contact onsite in Leiden.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Business Areas: Provide HR support to specific business areas.
• Collaborate with Leaders: Work with CTO business leaders and HR teams to develop strategies that advance the business.
• Leverage Strategies: Use business and people strategies, best practices, and insights to create innovative talent solutions.
• Drive Performance: Use metrics and analytics to improve organizational performance and drive business success.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze data and trends to support talent and organizational decisions, workforce planning, engagement, and succession management.
• HR Collaboration: Work with HR teams to deliver solutions that add value across the company.
• Lead Change Management: Define and lead change efforts to implement organizational solutions and programs.
• Foster Inclusive Environment: Promote a respectful and inclusive workplace, model BMS behaviors, and support cultural diversity.
• Participate in HR Initiatives: Lead or join HR projects to build capability across the company.
• Leiden Site Leadership: Actively participate as a member of the Leiden Site Leadership Team.
• Lead HR Initiatives: Independently lead HR projects to harmonize policies across the CTO manufacturing network.
• Talent and Succession Planning: Partner with leaders to identify critical roles, key talent, and succession gaps, and develop plans to improve talent development.
Your profile
• BA/BS Degree, Advanced Degree preferred, and 8+ years of HR relevant business experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment.
• Knowledge of labor laws in Netherlands
• Proven success in working effectively at senior management levels to impact and influence decision-making and in supporting global organizations.
• Experience in the use of metrics and analytics in a way that drives business performance.
• Proven application in leveraging business acumen and external insights to improve business and talent outcomes.
• Experience in leading change management efforts including defining change and communication plans.
• Demonstrated experience in applying workforce planning knowledge, engagement strategies, and succession management.
• Proven experience in working effectively within a matrixed environment and building alignment in a cross functional and team environment.
• Knowledge of external trends and factors that influence human behaviors and decision-making at the individual, group, and organizational level.
• Previous experience supporting a facility/function in high-growth mode or start-up.

The benefits
Hays Detachering | This is a temporary role, a maternity cover for 6-9 months, with a contract through Hays. We are looking for someone to start in January, for smooth handover of the current HRBP. At this position, you will get a competitive salary (between 80-130K gross per year, depending on education and experience) and your travel expenses are covered. All secondary benefits from the NBBU CAO apply. Please note that visa sponsorship cannot be provided for this position and only candidates who are eligible to work in EU will be considered.
